The elegance and expression of a great Sauternes wine
The property
Located south of Bordeaux, the Château d'Yquem is one of the most beautiful references among the great wines of Sauternes. This legendary Premier Cru Classé Supérieur enjoys an exceptional terroir and gives birth to sweet wines sought after worldwide.
The vineyard
Château d’Yquem is an extraordinary place, nestled in the heart of the hills of the Sauternes appellation, rich in a hundred hectares of vineyards planted on a mosaic of gravelly-sandy terroirs.
The vintage
Rainfall and spring freshness delay bud break and then flowering. A sunny July precedes a cool August. September and October are dry, punctuated by a few humid days promoting the appearance of early rot. Despite late harvests and low quantities, the harvest is of high quality.
Blend
Sémillon
Sauvignon blanc.
