Description
A Fresh and Elegant Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits
The Estate
Château de Marsannay was founded in 1990 in Marsannay-la-Côte, at the gates of Dijon, along the Route des Grands Crus of Burgundy. Acquired in 2012 by Olivier Halley, the estate now extends over 40 hectares, including 28 hectares within the Marsannay appellation, farmed organically and certified by Ecocert. Château de Marsannay also owns parcels in premier cru and grand cru vineyards of the Côte de Nuits, making it one of the leading players in the recognition of the Marsannay appellation, regarded as the golden gateway to the Côte de Nuits.
The Vineyard
The grapes for this cuvée come from Château de Marsannay's parcels located in the Marsannay appellation, the first village of the Côte de Nuits when travelling south from Dijon. Of the estate's 40 hectares, 28 hectares are planted on this terroir, farmed organically and certified by Ecocert. The Marsannay vineyard is characterised by a diversity of soils and exposures, which the estate showcases by vinifying many climats separately.
Winemaking and Ageing
Marsannay Village 2025 is crafted according to the philosophy of Château de Marsannay, which favours infusion-style maceration with gentle pumping over rather than more aggressive extraction, in order to preserve the finesse of Pinot Noir. The best sections of the parcels may be vinified as whole clusters. Ageing then takes place in oak barrels, in an underground cellar temperature-controlled at 15°C, conducive to the gradual maturation of the wine.
Grape Variety
Marsannay Village 2025 from Château de Marsannay is 100% Pinot Noir.
