Description
A powerful and fresh Marsannay red wine
The estate
Château de Marsannay, located in the heart of the Côte-de-Nuits appellation, covers an area of 34 hectares. Shifting between 250 and 280 metres above sea level from the south of the town of Dijon to the commune of Vosne-Romanée, the terroir of the estate expresses, through its patchwork of plots, all the nuances and typicity of these fine Burgundian ‘’climats’’.
The vineyard
"Les Echezots" 2021 by Château de Marsannay is a Marsannay Village wine that stems from a 2-hectare vineyard. Enjoying an eastern exposure in the middle of the hillside, the vines are planted on a clay-sand soil.
Vinification and ageing
The hand-picked grapes are rigorously sorted on a table. Following a partial destemming, the grapes are placed in steel vats. Alcoholic fermentation is followed by punching down and pumping over to favour extraction. The wine is aged for 13 months in barrels (20% new oak), followed by a further 3 months in the cellar.
The blend
Pinot Noir (100%).
