Château de Rayne Vigneau 2015

Bordeaux - Sauternes - White - 13.5° Château de Rayne Vigneau Château de Rayne Vigneau 2015 1085/15
  • Parker : 93-95
  • J. Robinson : 16.5+

2015 Sauternes 1er Cru Classe

Chateau de Rayne Vigneau 62-hectare vineyard lies on a magnificent rump overlooking Sauternes -wine sub region of Bordeaux. The 2015 vintage offers an interesting blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.

The nose is extremely vigorous, surprisingly focused on Sauvignon, and very complex. Chateau de Rayne Vigneau pairs delicate fruit notes from Sauvignon with the strength of perfectly pure botrytis. Luscious, precise, and ethereal offering evolves into broadness: very appealing to the palate.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2015 Rayne-Vigneau has a more understated bouquet this year - biding its time, a little timid at first, but opening to offer white flower and acacia scents that are well defined. The palate is fresh and crisp with good mineralité and tension. This saves the fireworks for the end with real race and class, that spicy finish lingering long in the mouth. This has great potential.
