2014 Saint-Estèphe, from Bordeaux.

The 2014 Chateau Haut-Marbuzet maintains its charming wine reputation. This Saint-Estèphe is subtly feminine in its aromatic expressions without denying the sappy tannic structure, specific to the appellation. The nose is very floral at first and then opens up on a range of black fruits and a mineral hint (graphite), on a good aromatic freshness. The palate is soft with a well-extracted sappy, tannic structure with well-proportioned grain. This is a strong wine with a good ageing potential.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2014 Haut Marbuzet has retained that ravishing bouquet that it showed out of barrel: plush red cherry and strawberry fruit, a little warmth, almost a cozy bouquet that you could snuggle up in on a warm night. The palate is medium-bodied with plush tannin, good body and density with kirsch, orange rind and Chinese five-spice. It is an atypical Saint Estèphe, but in 2014 this works a treat, a wine you can just revel in and enjoy, with its untrammeled deliciousness.
