Description
A Saint-Estèphe red wine with a long and elegant finish
A 4ème cru classé, Château Lafon-Rochet is a red wine produced in the Saint-Estèphe appellation. The vineyard, aged 40 years on average, enjoys a terroir composed of deep gravel and gravel on clay. The wine is aged in French oak barrels (50% of which are new) between 16 to 18 months, on average. The blend of the 2005 vintage contains 49% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc.
The Château Lafon-Rochet 2005 reveals a complex and fresh nose with aromas of spices, nutmeg and white pepper. On the palate, the tannic structure is sublime and brings an elegant finale of exceptional length. To consume between 2020 and 2030 (tasted by the estate in 2015).
