The Château Magrez Fombrauge vineyard dedicated to the production of white wines covers 2.20 hectares around Saint-Christophe des Bardes. The vines are 17 years old on average and are planted in clay-limestone soils upon a limestone base with asteria. The vineyard is covered with natural grass.
Produced in the Bordeaux appellation, the white wine of Château Magrez Fombrauge is a rare wine. This cuvée is made from vines planted in the town of Saint-Christophe des Bardes. The blend made from the emblematic white grape varieties of Bordeaux highlights the unique nature of the Saint-Emilion limestone.
After a slow pressing of the fruit with a pneumatic press, the juices are subjected to cold settling for 24 hours, followed by a cold liquid stabilisation of 5 days. Most of the alcoholic fermentation takes place in state-of-the-art ovoid cement tanks and the rest in new barrels at temperatures between 16° C and 20° C for around 15 days.
On fine lees for 8 to 10 months with stirring of the lees 1 to 2 times per week.
50% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Sauvignon Gris, 30% Sémillon.
