2015 was marked by a heavy drought until the end of July. A salutary month of August followed: it was fresher and more humid, allowing good ripeness and grapes of great quality in terms of aromas as well as of tannins. The 2015 Malartic-Lagravière was created in homogeneity and in ideal climatic conditions for a great vintage. It is composed of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. This Pessac-Leognan offers a delicious generous expression on black fruits and density on the palate; the attack is dynamic. This wine is then broad and strong on the mid-palate. The tannic structure is of high quality with a fruity texture that perfectly prevails on the ageing. The finish is concentrated and long. The whole is precisely constructed and confirms that this wine has every asset to be worth keeping.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
Aged 18 months in French oak barrels, 80% of which were new and 20% one-year-old, the 2015 Malartic Lagraviere is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 7% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it has notes of crushed black currants, fresh black berries and black raspberries with hints of tar, dried herbs and garrigue. The palate is medium-bodied, energetic and refreshing in the mouth with firm, grainy tannins and an uplifting finish.
