Description

A Pomerol wine with powerful and melted tannins

The property

Located in the heart of the prestigious Pomerol appellation, the Château Saint-Pierre is a superb vintage from the right bank of the Bordeaux region. A beautiful reference of the appellation, for nearly 5 years, the new team of Château Saint Pierre led by the famous consulting oenologist Stéphane Derenoncourt and Frédéric Massie have significantly improved the quality of this vintage.

The vineyard

This essential Pomerol estate oversees a vineyard of 1.6 hectares. The vines, which are on average 30 years old, benefit from sandy-gravelly soils rich in iron muck.

Vinification and aging

The aging process lasts 18 months in oak barrels.

Blend

Merlot and cabernet franc.

Beautiful deep, very dark, almost black color.

Nose
Powerful, the nose exudes notes of empyreumatic (toasted) and ripe fruits.

Ample and greedy, the palate perfectly combines roundness and density. The tannins are well melted and show a reasonable power.
