A powerful and spicy wine from Cornas Delas

A wine from the Cornas appellation, Chante-Perdrix 2015 is produced by Maison Delas Frères, one of the most important references in the Northern Rhône Valley.

A single-varietal Syrah wine, the Delas Cornas Chante-Perdrix 2015 results from a rigorous selection of the best grapes from various plots. The vineyard, located in the town of Cornas, enjoys an excellent south and south-east exposure with very steep terraces supported by dry stone walls.

In the glass, the Delas Cornas Chante-Pardrix 2015 displays an intense red colour, with garnet reflections. A wine from the exceptional 2015 vintage, this great Rhone wine for the Cornas appellation reveals a great power and complexity, with the spicy notes typical of Syrah. White pepper gives way to warmer licorice aromas. On the palate, the attack is striking in texture, dense and robust, evolving upon full-bodied aromas typical of this terroir. Ready to be enjoyed now, with a power and complexity that will blossom brilliantly as it ages until 2020. It is advisable to decant this wine to allow it to fully reveal its personality.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2015 Cornas Chante Perdrix is a blend of several parcels, vinified in concrete and aged primarily in oak. It's dark and concentrated, although admittedly not the most muscular Cornas. Black currant and cedar notes combine along with peppery hints of Montreal smoked meat to yield a savory impression. It's all held together by fine-grained, dusty tannins, which leave a lingering soft texture on the long, licorice-tinged finish. Already enjoyable, it should develop well for 10-12 years or more.
