Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the cuvée La Plume du Peintre Lirac Blanc 2023 from Domaine de la Mordorée
Tasting
Color
The color displays a limpid and bright green-gold hue.
Nose
The bouquet reveals a rich and complex aromatic palette, blending white fruits, peach, and apricot. Floral notes of acacia and white blossoms are accompanied by touches of verbena, while hints of exotic fruits complete this generous olfactory expression.
Palate
On the palate, this wine captivates with its roundness and elegance. The tasting reveals beautiful complexity and remarkable intensity, with a richness that fully expresses itself. The minerality provides tension, while woody notes mark a long and persistent finish.
Food and Wine Pairings
This Lirac blanc pairs perfectly with fish in creamy sauces, shellfish, and crayfish. It also pairs well with sea urchins, poultry, and fresh cheeses.
Serving and Aging
This wine is best enjoyed at a temperature between 10 and 12°C. It can be appreciated now but will evolve favorably until around 2029.

The Estate
Created in 1986 by Francis Delorme and his son Christophe, the Domaine de la Mordorée covers 42 hectares in the Vallée du Rhône Sud, spread over eight municipalities. After Christophe’s death in 2015, his widow Madeleine and their daughter Ambre now run the estate. The estate is distinguished by its certified organic and biodynamic practices, its prestigious appellations, and its cuvées with poetic names inspired by ornithology.
The Vineyard
This white wine from Vallée du Rhône comes from 40-year-old vines planted on soils of rolled pebbles resting on a mixture of sand and red clay. The vineyard, managed under certified organic and biodynamic Demeter agriculture, benefits from entirely manual harvesting and sorting, ensuring optimal grape selection.
The Wine
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine is a tribute by Ambre Delorme to her father, Christophe, who for over 30 years worked with passion and dedication to the development of the estate.
Winemaking and Aging
Winemaking begins with a skin-contact maceration followed by pressing. Fermentation takes place entirely in barrels, giving the wine its characteristic complexity and structure.
Blend
34% Roussanne, 33% Viognier, and 33% Marsanne, three emblematic grape varieties of the Southern Rhône Valley, each contributing its own personality to this exceptional cuvée.
