Domaine Georges Vernay : Maison Rouge 2011

Rhone Valley - Cote-Rotie - Red - 12.5° Domaine Georges Vernay Domaine Georges Vernay 2011 F405/11
  • Parker : 92
Georges Vernay 2011 Maison Rouge truely represents the prestigious Cote-Rotie appellation. The 2011 Maison Rouge -from old Syrah vines parcels located in Maison Rouge- is a delicate and elegantly structured wine boasting a purple black ruby hue. Red fruits and toasted notes command a subtle yet strong bouquet, with hints of oriental spices and smoky touches. The palate is full with firm, silky tannins leading to an aniseed finish. This Cote-Rotie will certainly impress with exceptional ageing potential.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Continuing to drink beautifully, the 2011 Cote Rotie Maison Rouge (100% Syrah fermented with a small amount of stems) shows the sunny, forward nature of the vintage with its ripe black raspberry, strawberry, spring flowers and spice-laced bouquet. Medium-bodied, elegant and silky, with good ripeness, drink it anytime over the coming decade. The elevage was 20-35% new French oak, and this was also the first vintage where they utilized a newly purchased parcel in the Maison Rouge lieu-dit.
