The property
Donatella Cinelli Colombini manages two historic properties in Tuscany: Fattoria del Colle, founded in 1592 in Trequanda, and Casato Prime Donne in Montalcino. Since 1998, she has modernized practices while respecting tradition, obtaining organic certification in 2018. Casato Prime Donne stands out for its entirely female management, with Valérie Lavigne as the winemaker.
The vineyard
The Brunello di Montalcino is produced on a terroir located at 225 meters above sea level, where maturation is slower and more regular.
Vinification and aging
The Casato Prime Donne 2020 is vinified and then aged in French oak barrels and 15-40 hectoliter vats, before bottle aging.
