The L'Ermitage "Le Méal" of Ferraton Père & Fils is a red wine produced exclusively from Syrah in the Ermitage appellation. This plot selection consists of vines aged 30 years on average and directly grafted on site, planted on terraces of rounded pebbles. The ageing of the wine is carried out in oak barrels (of which 30 to 50% are new barrels), over an average period of 14 to 18 months, depending on the vintage.
With its clear, intense ruby colour, the Ermitage "Le Méal" 2016 of Ferraton Père & Fils reveals fragrances of black fruit with subtle hints of leather. The tannins are well present on the palate and delicately woody. The wine shows off great amplitude, a beautiful structure and great keeping potential.The main purpose of this commentary is to describe the general profile of the wine presented. It is therefore called into question with the natural evolution of various characteristics of the wine over time.
