The harmony between the power and finesse of a great Italian wine
An essential reference point for the great wines of Italy, Frescobaldi embodies the excellence of winegrowing in Tuscany. With seven different estates located in benchmark growing areas, Frescobaldi stands out for its ability to illustrate the full diversity of expression of the greatest Tuscan terroirs. Each of the estates has its own history, its own terroir, and passionate men and women who are driven by the desire to produce great wines. Frescobaldi Tenuta Castelgiocondo, located in the southwest of Montalcino, is one of the seven pillars of the Frescobaldi family estates. With an exceptional vineyard located on great terroirs, this estate is at the origin of great Tuscan red wines.
Produced since 1991 among 12 hectares of vines at the Castelgiocondo estate at Montalcino, Lamaione is an IGT Toscana wine which is intended to reflect the characteristics of its own terroir. Placed on a clayey soil rich in limestone and minerals, these vines produce Merlots as distinctive for their powerful aromatic expression as for their dense and silky texture, reflecting the great wines of the estate. Throughout the tasting, the combination of aromatic power and great finesse is the main characteristic of this 2014 Lamaione vintage.
