The appellation of Graves covers about 3800 hectares of vines located just south of Bordeaux. Nearly 2/3 of production in Graves is red, while the rest is white. As indicated by the name of the appellation, the soil consists only of gravel and plays the dominant role in the development of its wines. Red Graves wines are structured thanks to Cabernet Sauvignon and soft and aromatic thanks to Merlot. Petit Verdot, Malbec and Carmenere can also be present. Its white wines are a blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, revealing aromas of flowers and citrus sometimes accompanied by exotic or menthol notes.
