Description
A delicate, fresh and fruity red wine from Ribera del Duero
The estate
In 1990, the visionary oenologist Peter Sisseck moved to Hacienda Monasterio, in the region of Castilla y León. The estate had been owned since the end of the 19th century by the Lecanda family, pioneers in the modernisation of Ribera del Duero wine making.
Peter Sisseck is responsible for the innovative management of the vineyards and the construction of new winemaking facilities. The wines of Hacienda Monasterio are known for their authentic and pure character and their great aromatic richness.
The vineyard
Hacienda Monasterio reigns over 160 hectares of land, 78 of which are planted with vines, located between Pesquera and Valbuena de Duero. The vineyard is managed organically and is divided into parcels. The soil is mainly composed of limestone, which gives the wines their subtle and elegant expression.
Vinification and ageing
Total destemming. Cold maceration for 30 days. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.
The blend
Hacienda Monasterio's 2019 Cosecha comprises a blend of Tinto Fino (tinta del país - 85%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%), Merlot (3%) and Malbec (2%).

The tasting
Colour
A bright ruby red colour.
Nose
The aromatic nose reveals a beautiful minerality that harmoniously blends with delectable red fruit fragrances, black liquorice and balsamic notes of eucalyptus.
Palate
A smooth and silky attack precedes a structured palate whose perfectly integrated acidic structure gives this wine its freshness and persistence. Balanced and very elegant, the palate seduces with its mineral and fruity aromatic palette.
