Description
Cornas " Les Ruchets " has been the first of many fulfilments of a childhood dream, with its first vintage in 1987, it has immediately been acknowledged as Colombo's icon wine. The grapes, coming from a small parcel of old-vines in a granite hillside overlooking the village of Cornas, are harvest manually, de-stemmed and vinified in controlled temperature vats The wine is then aged in oak barrels (of which only 1/3 new) for 20 to 24 months. With its splendid black colour, its nose presents super notes of plum, blue-berry confiture and just a hint of vanilla and sweet tobacco. The mouth is full, with silky tannins and black olives and white pepper aromas. The finish is long and intense.
