The Chateau de Camensac vineyard, great wine from Closerie de Carmensac, grows on sloping deep gravelly soils, allowing a good drainage and creating favourable conditions for the development of the main grape-varieties of the vineyard: Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2014 Haut-Medoc vintage of Closerie de Carmensac is a blend of those two grape-varieties, dominated by 60% Cabernet Sauvignon.
This Second Wine reveals a deep dark, limpid red colour as well as a very aromatic nose that develops black cherry and wine soaked peach notes, enhanced by a delicate wood. On the palate, the 2014 Closerie de Carmensac offers a round attack, followed by a supple tannic structure on a medium-body. The finish is long and slightly toasted; it blends with black fruit flavours.
