Description
The structure and refinement of a Piedmont wine
The estate
Located in the municipality of Barolo, the origins of the Marchesi di Barolo estate hark back to 1810, when it belonged to Marquis Falletti. Owned by the Abbona family for five generations, the quality and elegance of Marchesi di Barolo’s Piedmont wines beams beyond the country’s borders.
The vineyard
This 2015 Riserva by Marchesi di Barolo is a Barbaresco wine made from vineyards that rest upon clay-limestone soils, which are unique in their whitish appearance. This soil limits the infiltration of water, and encourages deep-rooting. The remarkably concentrated grapes give rise to fine ageworthy wines.
The blend
Nebbiolo (100%).
