He represents the eighth generation of his family to cultivate wine. It is he who gave his name to the estate, thus inscribing his ambition to restore the Riesling of Moselle to its former glory.
The vineyard
Markus Molitor’s vineyard stretches over the steep slopes of the Moselle. The soils are mainly composed of slate, giving the wines a characteristic minerality.
The wine
This Riesling Vogelsang Grosse Lage Domane Serrig by Markus Molitor is made from a Grand Cru classified vineyard located in the village of Serrig, benefiting from a south-east exposure and a slate-rich soil. The Serrig estate was a former vineyard of the Prussian state.
