Built during the reign of Napoleon III, Château Minuty was acquired in 1936 by Gabriel Farnet who sought to bring the estate back to its former glory. Thus, in 1955, the estate joined the small circle of 23 Classified Growths among Côtes de Provence wines. The estate then happened upon Monique and Etienne Matton who, thanks to their dedicated work, greatly contributed to establishing the reputation of Château Minuty on the finest tables in the French Riviera. Today, the brothers, Jean-Etienne and François Matton, have taken over the running of this estate with great dignity, all while injecting a modern spirit.
In the heart of the Provence region, Château Minuty's 160 hectares of vines cover the Saint-Tropez peninsula. On the Gassin and Ramatuelle hillsides, the vineyard enjoys a Mediterranean climate. The sea breezes stemming from the coast enable the grapes to preserve their healthy condition throughout the year. Varying between schist and limestone soils, the different grape varieties grow in an environment that best suits their needs. The vines are cultivated using sustainable viticulture methods and are nursed in a well-preserved environment with a rich ecosystem.
