Description
A fresh Second Wine from Saint-Emilion with a beautiful aromatic intensity
The estate
On the right bank of Bordeaux, where most estates hardly exceed 10 hectares, Château Troplong Mondot is one of the largest estates in Saint-Emilion. Founded in 1700, this Premier Grand Cru Classé is at the top of the Saint-Emilion appellation.
The vineyard
A benchmark among fine Saint-Emilion wines, Château Troplong Mondot watches over a 43-hectare single-block vineyard that is poised at an altitude of 110 metres. The vineyard is entirely managed using integrated viticultural practices. The vines are 30 years old on average and are grown on the appellation’s clay-limestone soils.
The wine
Mondot is the Second Wine of Château Troplong Mondot.
Vinification and ageing
40% of the wine is aged in stainless steel vats to develop the aromatic intensity of the wine, its density and the tension conferred by the limestone soils.
The blend
Merlot (100%).
