The estate
On Bordeaux’s Right Bank, where most estates are no bigger than 10 hectares, Château Troplong Mondot is one of the largest estates in Saint-Émilion. Founded in 1700, this Premier Grand Cru Classé is at the very top of the Saint-Émilion appellation.
The vineyard
A benchmark among the great wines of Saint-Émilion, Château Troplong Mondot oversees a 43-hectare vineyard in a single block, culminating at an altitude of 110 metres. All the vines are grown using integrated viticulture methods. The vines are an average of 30 years old and are grown on the clay-limestone soils typical of the appellation.
The wine
Mondot is Château Troplong Mondot’s Second Wine. Its uniqueness lies in its aromatic intensity, its density and its firmness transferred by limestone soils.
