The 2013 Crozes Hermitage Domaine de Roure is single-grape wine made of Syrah. This cuvee comes from vines of 40 to 60 years of age on average. It displays a garnet-tinted red colour. This 2013 cuvee carries a very complex bouquet composed of blue fruit such as blueberry, soft tobacco, potpourri and black pepper. On the palate, the 2013 Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Roure of Domaine Paul Jaboulet-Aîné reveals blackberry and blueberry aromas, which this time are enhanced by a good and smoky minerality. This wine bears an incredible structure and offers a silky and mineral finish which develops the last floral notes.

From a 3.5-hectare estate of steep granite soils that was purchased in 1996, the 2013 Crozes Hermitage Domaine de Roure spent 12 months in 20% new French oak. It offers lots of granite character in its raspberry and blackberry fruits, white pepper, cedary spice and dried flowers. More fresh, focused and mineral-laced than the Thalabert, yet not as rich or dense, it too will have a decade of longevity.
