The refinement and aromatic expression of a Mediterranean white wine
The estate
Nestled in the heart of Provence, Château Miraval boasts a unique history blending cultural heritage and art de vivre. Once a crossroads for illustrious figures such as Thomas Aquinas and the Prince of Naples, it underwent a major transformation in 1970 when jazz pianist Jacques Loussier installed a recording studio on the property. The venue quickly became legendary, hosting the greatest names in rock. In 2008, captivated by the estate’s unique charm, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt acquired it. Together, they undertook a deep modernization, elevating the estate to a benchmark among the finest Provence rosé wines.
The vineyard
Château Miraval stretches across the commune of Correns, renowned as France’s first 100% organic village. Its vineyard, located in the heart of the Var, benefits from a preserved environment, bordered by olive trees and caressed by the maritime influences of the Mediterranean. The saline soils and mild climate encourage optimal grape ripening, endowing the wines with a pronounced mineral structure and a subtly saline finish. It is in this unique setting that Studio by Miraval is born, a true reflection of its terroir.
The wine
Studio by Miraval takes its name from the famous recording studio within the estate, where Pink Floyd recorded part of the album The Wall. This wine pays tribute to the artistic soul of the place while precisely expressing the freshness and elegance of Mediterranean terroirs. This IGP Méditerranée cuvée comes from vineyards planted on gentle slopes with soils composed of marl, clay, and limestone.
The vintage
The year 2024 was marked by unpredictable weather, alternating between late frost, summer hail, and a cool, wet September. These conditions slowed grape ripening, preserving their freshness and natural acidity. The first juices offer a pale hue, intense and pure aromatics, and a lively, saline, and fruity palate, resulting in wines that are balanced, expressive, and particularly enjoyable.
Vinification and aging
Direct pressing vinification, cinsault and tibouren in stainless steel vats, then grenache and rolle partially vinified in tulip-shaped concrete vats with rounded bottoms.
Grape variety
100% rolle.
