According to legend, Lord Montrachet divided his estate between his two sons : one became a knight (chevalier) during the Crusades and the other, illegitimate, was given the name Batard-Montrachet (the bastard of Montrachet). The estate of Bouchard Pere & Fils is today the sole-proprietor of the four terraces of Chevalier Montrachet, which produces wines distinguished by their fruity and floral aromas. The 2011 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Crus presents a golden robe with green highlights. The aromatic bouquet is very elegant and pure, delivering notes of orange blossom and rose water complemented by delicate toasty notes. The palate of this Burgundy wine seduces with its sweetness, depth and incomparable elegance.
