    2008 Pomerol

The 2008 Chateau Gazin shows a deep dark hue. The nose, pretty closed at different breathing stages, exudes generous currant and black fruit scents when open. This Pomerol is renowned for its charming and round character. The vintage reveals bold fruits, marked by commanding black fruits. The palate is precise, refreshing attack, somewhat dense tannins coated with fruity flesh: very pleasant and delectable. The finish is quite persistent with hint of cocoa powder. This wine impresses with accessibility and ageing potential: 20 to 30 years

    Wine Advocate-Parker :
Gazin's 2008, a structured, masculine style of Pomerol, reveals a dense plum/purple color in addition to a gorgeous perfume of licorice, mocha, black currants, plums and Asian spices. Firm, dense and full-bodied with stunning concentration, it represents a hypothetical blend of its two near-by neighbors, Lafleur and Petrus. Congratulations to Gazin on another fabulous effort that still seems to be under most consumers' radar. The 2008 should drink well for 20-25 years.
