Description
2012 Pomerol, pure Merlot from Bordeaux.
Less generous in volume that the previous vintages, the 2012 Pomerol of Chateau Gazin has the particularity of being a pure Merlot wine. This grape-variety gives great satisfaction thanks to its aromatic richness, perfect ripeness and tannins quality. In the end, the wine drinks well due to its reasonable alcohol content. The purple-tinted deep red coloured 2012 Gazin offers a charming nose with frank, clear and fresh aromas. The blackcurrant, blueberry and black cherry aromas form an aromatic depth. The wine is balanced. The fragrances are given off, on the nose as well as on swirl, in rare frankness followed by a light, ephemeral toasted hint. On the palate, the attack is well-dosed with a quite precise vibrancy. The mid-palate is elegant, smooth and fine. The roundness of the tannins is agreeable and the fruit carries a good persistence. The whole is harmonious, and was skilfully made. Although this Pomerol will open up quite soon for the most impatient, it still has a 15 year ageing potential. It is a very well-produced wine.
