The Château Haut-Brion vineyard is located on the Pessac-Leognan appellation. It stretches over 51 hectares among which 48 hectares are planted with red grape-varieties. This vintage 2005 is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
The wine reveals an almost black, dense colour. The nose gives off a rather outstanding aromatic intensity in which the complexity that characterises the Chateau Haut-Brion can be found. Indeed, empyreumatic, Havana cigar and roasted coffee bean notes are revealed. The fresh fruit is also part of the whole with redcurrant and cherry hints. On the palate, the 2005 Chateau Haut-Brion offers a dense, long and creamy attack. Strong and fresh, the palate is characterised by a certain harmony. The wine carries an incredible aromatic persistence. This 2005 Pessac-Leognan is one of the greatest successes of the estate.
