A fine red wine from Haut-Médoc by Château Larrivaux
The estate
Located in Haut-Médoc, Château Larrivaux is a wine estate founded in the 16th century. Established on land where nothing existed before, the mansion and vineyard were erected against all odds. The peculiarity of this estate is that it has been run passed down from mother to daughter since 1580.
The vineyard
The vines of Château Larrivaux are planted on 3 small islets which represent 19 hectares of vineyard. This vineyard is planted in clay-limestone and clay-sandy soils.
The winemaking
Harvest from September 30 to October 9. Fermentation in concrete tanks and stainless steel tanks.
The ageing
Ageing in barrels.
The blend
Merlot (59%), cabernet sauvignon (21%), petit verdot (15%), cabernet franc (5%)
