Château Lynch-Moussas 2014

Bordeaux - Pauillac - Red - 13.5° Château Lynch-Moussas Château Lynch-Moussas 2014 1047/14
  • Parker : 91
  • J. Robinson : 16,5

A dense red wine from Pauillac

Château Lynch-Moussas is a 5th Classified Growth from the Pauillac appellation. The total area of the vineyard is 55 hectares, and the vines are planted in a soil rich in silica and gravel. The vineyard of the property are planted with 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot.

At the tasting this wine presents a fragrant bouquet that announces an intense presence of fruit, as well as a great harmony. On the palate, the wine appears to be medium-bodied with soft and tight tannins, as well as flavours of cedar-infused fruits. The Château Lynch-Moussas 2014 offers an incredible density and a very concentrated finish.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2014 Lynch Moussas was actually more expressive than the 2014 Batailley on the nose with lifted redcurrant, cranberry and wild strawberry scents mingling with sous-bois and tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and a keen line of acidity, well balanced with attractive smoke and tobacco notes complementing the red berry fruit on the finish. This has good potential, a Pauillac that is likely to be underappreciated by the market, yet to register the improvement at the Castèja family's estate.
