The purity and precision of a mineral white Grand Cru Classé of Graves

2018 is in line with the greatest white vintages at Château Olivier, a Grand Cru Classé de Graves located southeast of Bordeaux, in the Pessac-Léognan appellation.

Following a rainy spring, a beautiful hot and dry summer allowed the fruit to ripen fully. The harvest of the whites began on August 28 and lasted until September 12. The excellent health conditions of the harvested fruit allowed each variety to fully express itself. The Sauvignon Blanc was especially beautiful and fruity.

The white Grand Vin of the property, the Château Olivier 2018 white blends Sauvignon Blanc (75%) and Sémillon (25%).

At the tasting, the Château Olivier 2018 white reveals a beautiful aromatic structure, exuding fresh citrus notes, white peaches and floral fragrances. A wine of great purity and tension whose generous and juicy palate develops great energy and vivaciousness. The fruit is juicy and very fresh, offering a beautiful structure. The long finish highlights beautiful saline mineral touches. A very successful vintage for Château Olivier.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The Olivier 2018 Blanc is a little reticent to begin, opening to give notions of fresh limes, lemon peel, white grapefruit and wet slate with a touch of coriander seed. Medium-bodied, the palate is tight, with great tension and loads of citrusy layers, finishing long and minerally.
