Description
A Saint-Émilion wine of great finesse
The estate
Tracing its origins to the 18th century, the Château Soutard takes its name from a very ancient place-name located on the only limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion. Château Soutard has been owned since 2006 by the insurance company AG2R LA MONDIALE.
The vineyard
Château Soutard oversees a contiguous 30-hectare vineyard. The vines, averaging 20 years old, are planted mainly on the clay-limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion as well as on clayey hillsides and sandy lower slopes.
Winemaking and aging
The wine is aged in barrels, with 60% in new barrels and 40% in one-wine barrels.
Blend
Merlot (63%), Cabernet Franc (34%), Cabernet Sauvignon (2%) and Malbec (1%).
