Vinum

Fruity, crisp, juicy, it has retained its freshness and digestibility.

Decanter

Cedar and cassis, with clear concentration to the aromatics and on the attack. Attractive, with well-placed cassis fruit. You can see the potential with a few more years in bottle, but the finish is a little abrupt.

Falstaff

Falstaff

Deep ruby, purple glints, faintly lighter ochre hue at the rim. Fresh sweetheart cherries, pleasant blackberry jam undertones followed by soft tobacco nuances, mineral touch. Juicy, medium complexity, discreet fruit expression, pleasant savoriness, some nougat and caramel on the finish. A balanced food accompaniment.

André Kunz

(55% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon) Floral, silky, slender bouquet, blackcurrants, red cherries, chalk. Light, delicate palate with sweet fruit, a slender structure, little fine tannin, fresh aromatics, light finish. 16/20 2022 - 2032

Bettane+Desseauve

A lovely second wine that “merlots” cheerfully. Warm vinosity.

Yves Beck

A delight! The bouquet of the 2nd wine of Lascombes is enticing with its notes of chocolate and licorice wood. Juicy character and a slightly creamy palate, where the wine benefits from a very good tannic framework. Fruity finish.

Description

An Ample and Expressive Second Wine from Margaux

The estate

Bearing the surname of Chevalier Antoine de Lascombes since the 17th century, the Château Lascombes is marked by the imprint of the ten generations of owners who have shaped its history. Since 2011, the mutualist group MACSF has been the owner. The wines of Château Lascombes are recognized as being among the greatest of the Margaux appellation.

Chevalier de Lascombes is the Second Wine of the estate.

The vineyard

120 hectares in the Margaux appellation make up the vineyard of this Second Grand Cru Classé in 1855. This vineyard is located on a mosaic of plots whose soils are composed, depending on their location, of a gravelly mound, clayey gravels and clay-limestone plots.

Vinification and aging

Harvested by hand, the grapes undergo gentle vinification by infusion. Maceration of 30 to 35 days. Aging in barrels and vats.

Blend

The Chevalier de Lascombes 2018 is a blend of merlot (55%) and cabernet sauvignon (45%).
