The estate

Founded in 1982 by the winemaker Claudio Conterno and the oenologist Guido Fantino, Conterno Fantino is an unmistakable reference among the finest Piedmont wines. Located in the village of Monforte d'Alba, the family estate watches over a terroir that spreads over 27 hectares of certified organic vineyards. Constantly seeking to respect the environment, Conterno Fantino's wines are the pure and refined expression of prestigious Barolo terroirs.

The wine

Produced since 1984, Conterno Fantino's Langhe Nebbiolo "Ginestrino" is a Piedmont wine that stems from vineyards located between 200 and 450 metres above sea level in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. Facing south, south-east and south-west, these vines were planted between 1998 and 2007 on limestone soils.

Vinification and ageing

Horizontal maceration in stainless steel vats for 8 to 10 days. The wine is aged in French oak barrels.
