A velvety, layered and restrained red with dark cherries, crushed raspberries, wild strawberries, baking spices and dried herbs on the nose. Full-bodied with finely grained tannins. The balance and harmony are impressive for the vintage, with a funnelled long finish. Drink or hold.

Muddled red fruits and licorice introduce the medium-bodied 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Although round and refreshing, it finishes rather abruptly and doesn’t leave a lasting impression. Drink over the next four years.
