The Elegance and Minerality of a Great Burgundy Wine
The Estate
The history of the Domaine du Château de Meursault dates back to the 11th century. Located in Burgundy, this historic estate has undergone a spectacular revival since its acquisition in 2012 by the Halley family. Today, the vineyard spans nearly 67 hectares across the Côte de Beaune. Committed to a strong environmental approach with a transition toward organic farming, the estate produces wines renowned for their exceptional quality.
The Vineyard
This wine comes from plots located on the upper part of the famous Charmes climat, within the Meursault appellation. Around forty years old, the vines thrive on soils composed of Jurassic limestone and marl. This specific terroir, combined with controlled yields, promotes slow and optimal ripening of the grapes, revealing the full complexity of this cru.
Winemaking and Aging
After meticulous hand-harvesting, the grapes destined for the Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes Dessus" 2024 undergo slow, gradual pressing to extract the finest juices. This is followed by a static settling period of about twelve hours. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels. Aging then continues for 15 months, split between stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, including a proportion of new barrels, allowing for delicate integration of the wood.
Grape Variety
Chardonnay (100%).
