Vertdevin
The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose shows concentration and depth. It expresses ripe, dense red and black fruit notes (morello cherry, red cherry, rosehip, raspberry coulis, wild strawberry, crushed blackcurrant, wild blackberry and blueberry), combined with a pronounced, refined spiciness that adds to the wine’s complexity. Notable are sweet spice notes (clove, cinnamon, ground dried ginger, cumin), vanilla, licorice, a woody character (toasted hazelnut, toasted oak, coffee), as well as refreshing floral and herbal touches (cornflower, lily, violet, mint, rosemary, tea leaf) and a delicate minerality. On the palate, the wine is broad, fleshy, warm and generous. It offers suppleness from its fruit, and firmness from its tannic structure. Flavors of juicy red cherry, black cherry, crushed wild strawberry, wild plum, raspberry coulis are joined by notes of dried mint, rosemary, vanilla, licorice, cumin, clove, white pepper, and fresh flowers (cornflower, peony, wildflowers), with a fine hint of roasted meat and smoke in the background. The tannins are firm, youthful, slightly grainy, but not drying thanks to the fruit core and the wine’s mouthwatering acidity. The finish is zesty, fresh and persistent. A refined yet young wine to keep for several years.
