A powerful and expressive Saint-Joseph
The estate
Founded by Stéphane Robert in the Rhone Valley, Domaine du Tunnel now cultivates vines on the right bank of the Rhône in the Ardèche. Stéphane and Sandrine Robert manage this estate, which stands out for its unique cellar, housed in a former railway tunnel since 2014. This original facility reflects the precise and contemporary approach of the estate, known for its consistency and regional roots.
The vineyard
This cuvée comes from a parcel selection of the Lieu-dit Peygros in Tournon-sur-Rhône. The vines in this Saint-Joseph parcel are considered old vines, imparting concentration and complexity to the wine.
Winemaking and aging
The Lieu-dit Peygros 2022 was fermented for three weeks in stainless steel tanks, followed by 14 months of aging in barrels.
Grape variety
This cuvée is produced exclusively from Syrah, the emblematic grape variety of the northern Rhone Valley.
