Tasting
Colour
This red wine from France displays a deep ruby hue, enhanced by delicate cherry highlights. Its intense, luminous colour reflects lovely maturity while retaining great clarity.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with impressive power, revealing aromas of small red and black fruits such as blackcurrant, cherry and redcurrant. Subtle spicy, mineral and earthy touches intertwine, before giving way to nuances of toasted wood and chocolate from its time in barrel.
Palate
The attack is generous and full-bodied, revealing rich and complex material. The palate unfolds flavours of blackberry and plum, supported by silky tannins that provide lovely structure without astringency. The mid-palate, marked by vanilla and spicy notes along with a slightly smoky minerality, extends into a persistent, fruity and flavourful finish.
Food and wine pairing
This wine pairs wonderfully with red meats such as lamb, as well as game such as duck or venison. It also enhances traditional dishes in wine sauce, mushroom-based recipes and aged cheeses.
Service and storage
Boasting a fine structure, this Pommard Village "Les Trois Follots" 2023 offers excellent potential for evolution. It can be fully enjoyed within three to seven years, meaning it should be drunk by around 2030.

The authentic expression of Pommard terroir by Domaine Lejeune
The estate
Located in the heart of Burgundy, Domaine Lejeune is a historic estate whose modern form was established in 1793, following the acquisition of the buildings of the Confrérie du Saint Sacrement. Managed by the Jullien de Pommerol family since 1783, the estate spans 8.7 hectares. Since August 2023, Louis de Belleroche has been the current owner, bringing a new entrepreneurial dynamic while preserving tradition. Certified organic, Domaine Lejeune stands out for its commitment to ancestral winemaking methods and its deep respect for terroir.
The vineyard
The vines flourish on the hillsides of the Pommard appellation, facing southeast at an altitude of between 250 and 300 metres. The terroir is composed of clay-limestone soils dating back to the Jurassic period, offering excellent water retention thanks to the clay and a distinctive minerality provided by the limestone. Around 50 years old, the vines are cultivated according to organic farming principles and harvested by hand to ensure a rigorous selection of the finest berries.
The vintage
2023 benefited from particularly mild climatic conditions. A mild and sufficiently humid spring encouraged excellent vegetative growth. The summer proved very warm and sunny, allowing for optimal ripening of the grapes, while cool nights preserved the fruit's natural acidity. These ideal conditions led to an early harvest, carried out between 20 and 30 September.
Winemaking and aging
The making of the Pommard Village "Les Trois Follots" 2023 is based on traditional, minimally interventionist Burgundian methods. Fermentation takes place with whole bunches in conical wooden vats, a technique that helps extract silky tannins and great aromatic complexity. The wine is then aged for an extended period in oak barrels, allowing its subtle nuances and structure to develop.
