Description
The elegant power of a great Barolo
A superb wine from Domenico Clerico, Ciabot Mentin 2012 is a wine produced in the Barolo appellation, from vines between 40 and 50 years old. The vines are rooted in the terroir of Ginestra, one of the greatest wines from the Alba Monforte area, in the Cuneo province, in the heart of Piedmont, Italy. Thos full-bodied Domenico Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin is a superb wine, one of the most unique expressions of the Piedmont region and its most famous black grape variety, Nebbiolo.
This wine displays a garnet red colour with ruby highlights. Intense and constantly changing, the bouquet reveals a complex aromatic palette, rich and dense, with fragrances of black fruits, spices and roasted hazelnuts, along with touches of tar typical of Barolo. On the palate, this Ciabot Mentin reveals remarkable power, great balance between density and tannic finesse, warm and spicy notes with wonderful acidity. Very delicate, this great wine is to be enjoyed now or kept for the next 20 years.
