Characteristics and tasting tips of Echo de Lynch-Bages 2023

The colour reveals a brilliant ruby hue.

The nose seduces with its freshness and its notes of red fruits.

A round attack precedes a full mouthfeel with perfectly integrated tannins.

An opulent and balanced Second Wine from Pauillac

The estate

Located at the gates of Pauillac, the Château Lynch Bages is an estate that has marked the history of the Médoc. While the Bages terroir has been known since the 16th century, it gained fame in the 18th century. Under the leadership of the son of an Irish citizen named Thomas Lynch, the Bages cru was recognised at the Paris universal exhibition. Entering the fold of the J-M Cazes family on the eve of the Second World War, Château Lynch-Bages is one of the most beautiful references of the Pauillac appellation.

The vineyard

Château Lynch-Bages is a Pauillac wine from a 105-hectare vineyard planted on Garonne gravels. The parcel division of the vineyard is refined thanks to the use of satellite technologies, preserving the viticultural genetic heritage of the estate. The homogeneous geology of the terroir allows a good water supply to the vine on a territory where the climate is moderate.

The wine

Écho de Lynch-Bages is the Second Wine of the prestigious Grand Cru Classé of Pauillac, Château Lynch-Bages.

The vintage

A mild winter gives way to a spring marked by significant sanitary pressure contained thanks to the reactivity of the teams. The summer heat slows down the ripening until the saving rains of September 12th, preserving the aromatic brightness and balance of the berries.

Vinification and ageing

Hand-picked harvest with sorting in the vineyard and on the table. The ageing takes place over 14 months in new barrels and one wine.

Merlot (55%), Cabernet Sauvignon (43%) and Cabernet Franc (2%).
