Domaine Faiveley : Blagny 1er cru "La Pièce sous le Bois" Joseph Faiveley 2014

2014 Blagny Premier Cru, pure Pinot Noir, Burgundy.

The 2014 Blagny Premier Cru La Pièce sous le Bois of Domaine Faiveley is pure Pinot Noir. The wine was aged in oak barrels in beautiful vaulted cellars from the 19th century, thus it offers ideal ageing conditions. The word "pièce" refers to a plot located under the wood of Blagny. 
The 2014 Blagny displays a barely garnet-tinted bright red colour. On the nose, it gives off black fruits and cooked red berry aromas which perfectly mix with empyreumatic (smoky and caramelised) notes. On the palate, the 2014 Blagny Premier Cru La Pièce sous le Bois develops fruity and slightly smoky flavours. The wine carries wonderful, round and sweet amplitude.
