The 1999 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru of Domaine Faiveley is pure Pinot Noir. It was aged in oak barrels in vaulted cellars from the 19th century, in order to offer optimum ageing conditions.
This 1999 vintage wine displays an intense ruby red colour. The nose is pleasant and complex, and gives off empyreumatic and fruity aromas. This Burgundy wine is strong, elegant and distinguished on the palate, with marked yet not too strong tannins. The finish is fine and offers a good persistence. The 1999 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru can be paired with some boeuf bourguignon, game meat, coq au vin, or even filet de boeuf (beef tenderloin).
