Description
A Complex white wine from Saint-Joseph
Saint-Joseph "Les Oliviers" from Ferraton Pere & Fils is a white wine produced in the Saint-Joseph appellation. This wine is produced from vines that are on average 20 years old. The vines are planted on a hillside composed of gore (decomposed granite). The wine is aged in barrels, on fine lees, for a period of 8-10 months. This cuvee is a blend of 50% Marsanne and 40% Roussanne.
Saint Joseph "Les Oliviers" 2016 from Ferraton Pere & Fils has a striking pale gold colour. Scents of white peaches emerge, quickly followed by subtle smoky notes. In the mouth, the wine proves to be complex in perfectly tying together acidity, fattiness and minerality.
