The estate

Founded in the 13th century by the Templars, the Commanderie de Peyrassol is among the oldest wine estates in Provence, with production documented as early as 1256. Located on the foothills of the Massif des Maures, this 850-hectare property, under the direction of Philippe Austruy, has 92 hectares of vineyards farmed under certified organic agriculture.

The vineyard

#Lou Rosé 2024 comes from the AOP Côtes de Provence appellation, where the vines thrive on predominantly limestone soils. This soil profile gives the wine its hallmark freshness and subtle minerality.

The vintage

The year 2024 began with a harsh winter marked by frost and abundant rainfall exceeding 400 millimeters. Summer was hot and dry, with no heatwave episodes. Harvest began on August 22. The first juices showed a sun-kissed character and citrus notes, while the fruit picked after the September rains brought freshness along with floral aromas and red-fruit notes.

Vinification and aging

#Lou Rosé 2024 is traditionally vinified in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats after gentle pneumatic pressing. Aging takes place for a few months in stainless-steel vats on fine lees, helping to preserve the wine’s aromatic freshness.

Grape varieties

Cinsault (40%), Grenache (40%), Syrah (20%).
