A single-varietal Syrah red wine produced in the Saint-Joseph appellation, the Saint-Joseph Caroline by Louis Chèze benefits from vines aged 40 years on average and located 300 meters above sea level on granitic to muscovite soils. The ageing of the wine is carried out for 14 months (20% in new barrels and 80% in barrels of one or two previous wines).
The Saint-Joseph Caroline 2015 of Louis Chèze displays quite a luminous garnet colour. It develops on the nose aromas of flowers (violets), along with notes of pepper. Ample and extremely powerful on the palate, the wine reveals an extremely persistent finish.
