Description
Characteristics and Tasting Notes of Beaune 1er Cru "Bressandes" Domaine Louis Jadot 2022
Tasting
Appearance
This wine reveals a deep ruby hue, adorned with purple highlights that underscore its youth.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with indulgent notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry. It is then enriched with spicy nuances and a delicate hint of vanilla.
Palate
Both full and elegant, the palate charms with its velvety texture and remarkably fine tannins. Carried by a lovely freshness, it stretches into a persistent finish where the fruity and spicy aromas return.
Food and wine pairings
This great red wine pairs beautifully with traditional dishes such as bœuf bourguignon, coq au vin or roasted poultry. It also accompanies fine cuts of feathered game, sweetbreads with mushrooms, as well as cheeses such as Saint-Nectaire, Cîteaux or a medium-aged Comté.
Serving and cellaring
Endowed with a beautiful structure, this Beaune 1er Cru "Bressandes" 2022 can be enjoyed from its early years but will reveal its full complexity with time. It can be drunk until at least 2037.
The elegance and richness of a Premier Cru from Beaune
The estate
Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, the Louis Jadot House is a true institution in Burgundy. Historically based in Beaune, it has established itself as an essential benchmark, now shining on the international stage. At the helm of the estate, Thomas Seiter perpetuates the excellence and style of the house. The estate stands out for its vast in-house vineyard, a large part of which is classified as Premier and Grand Cru. Deeply committed to an environmental approach, the house favours sustainable viticulture, certified High Environmental Value level 3, with organic conversion underway.
The vineyard
The "Bressandes" climat enjoys a privileged location in the north of the Beaune appellation, nestled on hillsides between the renowned Grèves and Cent-Vignes crus. Facing east and south-east, the vines flourish on shallow soils composed of marl and fissured limestone dating from the Jurassic period, scattered with iron-rich clays. This moderately elevated, well-ventilated terroir favours the production of small, concentrated berries. Here the estate applies respectful cultivation methods, banning synthetic inputs for two decades to allow the terroir to fully express itself.
Winemaking and aging
To craft this Beaune 1er Cru "Bressandes" 2022, the grapes are meticulously destemmed upon arrival at the cellar in order to preserve the purity of the fruit and the softness of the tannins. This is followed by a long maceration of around four weeks, allowing a gentle and measured extraction of colours and aromas. The wine then benefits from an extended eighteen-month aging in oak barrels, refining its structure and lending it a subtle woody patina.
