The elegance and complexity of a great Burgundy white grand cru

The estate

Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, Louis Latour has upheld a family heritage that began in 1731 in Burgundian cooperage. Under the leadership of Louis-Fabrice Latour since 1999, this independent house owns the largest grand cru estate in the Côte d'Or, particularly on Corton Grèves and Bressandes. True to the Burgundian terroir, it has expanded its influence to Chablis and Beaujolais, preserving its traditional know-how and historic cooperage.

The vineyard

The Bâtard-Montrachet flourishes on an 11.86-hectare vineyard located between Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. This grand cru benefits from eastern exposure on slopes where gravelly soil rests on a clay base. The vines, averaging 40 years old, are rooted in this exceptional terroir renowned for the remarkable expression of Chardonnay.

Winemaking and aging

Hand-harvested grapes are followed by full vinification in oak barrels, where both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place. The wine is then aged for 8 to 12 months in 100% new barrels from the Louis Latour cooperage, crafted from French oak with medium toasting.

Grape variety

Chardonnay (100%).
